I know what you’re saying is true. But I think that many people believe Obamacare is indeed some kind of handout program that pays for healthcare. IOW they’re getting it mixed up with Medi **CAID**. The crux of Obamacare is PRIVATE insurance. The whiff of entitlement associated with it is entirely wrong, subsidies notwithstanding. That’s like saying income tax deductions are “entitlements.” Oh yeah, let’s do away with those for middle class/poor people, too, while we’re at it. ---

Mount Vernon, George Washington’s historic home just down the Potomac from the capital, is making the best of things - it had more visitors last year than it’s had in over a decade. As its 2017 Annual Report states (p. 7), “To drive these strong attendance figures, we capitalized on growing interest in topics surrounding government and politics, fueled by a lively news cycle.” Yeah, “lively.” That’s one word for it. ---
