Typically at least 40% of Mississippi voters vote Democratic. Are you saying that 40% of the people of Mississippi don’t fit in in their home state? What a ridiculous thing to say. So either Trump (and you) are saying something utterly nonsensical, or he meant something else… ---

He was born in Mississippi, he’s a standard conservative Democrat who’s represented his state in the House and worked in state government. He endorsed a Republican gubernatorial candidate. No, while I think it’s ridiculous to suggest that a black lifelong Mississippian and conservative Democrat doesn’t “fit in” with Mississippi, it is more likely that Trump was really using that ridiculous racist dogwhistle than that he had in mind any more rational argument about Espy’s alleged unsuitability. ---

I suspect that they want a model that shows that global warming is not happening. Then they will cherry-pick the data to fit that model. I imagine there is some Koch brother-funded research out there that will “fit” the bill, so to speak. All other data will be considered outliers that can be disregarded. After all, Trump is on the record as saying he doesn’t trust scientists because they have political agendas. As opposed to fossil fuel companies. ---
