Also in the quick and dirty stage, but it looks like my taxes went up a LOT. Same income, same deductions…but I live in California and mortgage interest and property tax were big deductions in the past. ---

Couldn’t take charitable deductions because they raised the ceiling. But the big difference is that they eliminated the income exclusion, and rolled it into the standard deduction. Whatever averaging method was used ended up in a net loss for us and a net gain for people with higher incomes, as they immediately became beneficiaries of the increased standard deduction. ---

Line 42 used to say that if line 38 was less than $156,000, you used a multiplier to come up with an amount that knocked your taxable income down a significant amount. Last year, that reduced our income from $104K to about $70K. That’s no longer there, and the increased standard deduction falls short by $800. ---

Well, Putin is texting Shit-Gibbon everything Putin wants Shit-Gibbon to think Shit-Gibbon knows. It’s different from what, not the Deep State, _but the people Shit-Gibbon appointed_, are telling Shit-Gibbon. So who is SG going to believe? The answer is, of course, obvious. Toss in some Faux News fictions, and we might as well furlough the entire FBI, CIA and NSA and all those other intelligence gathering agencies.
