AFAIK all His Nibs can get away with on the government dime is travel and security expenses, which of course are considerable on their own (Trump seems to have easily beaten current records for Presidential expenses). Even so, there seem to be limits on what a President can claim as related to “security”, ever since some Nixonian shenanigans in this regard. I assume Lorance had dishonorable discharge as part of the punishment given the severity of his conviction. That punishment, like the rest of his imprisonment, is no longer valid. Golsteyn has not even been convicted yet. His court martial was still pending and now will not occur. The other of the three cases, Gallagher, didn’t even result in a conviction that would warrant a dishonorable discharge. He also _was not granted clemency_ unlike some of the stories I’ve seen have implied. He had been demoted as part of his punishment. Trump ordered him promoted him back to his previous rank. Gallagher’s conviction remains in place. ---
