I, for one, am hoping that Trump actually does try to amend the Constitution via one of his inane executive orders, Remember when anti-Obama types were freaking out and condemning Obama “for planning on changing the Constitution so he can be president longer than eight years” absent any proof whatsoever? These idiots are supporting Trump no matter what he does. And there’s more and more proof every day regarding Trump’s lack of ability, ethics, or competency. ---

That would be great, if cognitive dissonance was actually painful or at least gave you unsightly acne or had any other unpleasant physical effect. The problem is that the current environment is not selective enough against irrationality, so there’s little evolutionary pressure for it to die out. The inability to see a problem with railing against an action Obama didn’t take yet be cool when Trump \*does \*will linger and unfortunately not be fatal enough, This political version of the appendix will be affecting American elections until the end of this century, at least. ---
