The part about social justice being “baked into the worldview” refers to the fact that _in general_ Jews do not look to a reward in heaven but focus on _tikkun olam_, namely “mending a broken world,” i.e., THIS world, the one we all live in. Hell, for that matter social justice is built right into Christianity also, but far too many Christians either ignore it or even do the opposite. @Johnny_L.A alluded to some of the details. It’s ironic that we’re talking about this in a Trump thread, as he’s extremely non-religious, despite being the Mango Messiah for a lot of extremely radical Christian Nationalists. (He’s practically the golden calf of Exodus made flesh.) ---

My post was pretty clearly a personal anecdote, though American Jewry’s overall progressive tilt is well-documented political reality. Turning that into “oh so you’re saying all Jews are inherently good” is confusing at best, and asking me to defend or integrate Israeli politics into **my** worldview is the standard dual loyalty canard. ---

I strongly recommend the excellent documentary _[Q: Into the Storm](https://www.hbo.com/q-into-the-storm)_. (It is streaming on Max.) Part of the series was devoted to talking about (and interviewing) the evangelical people on social media pushing Trump as a Christian prophet and chosen of God who is meant to lead all mankind into righteousness, etc. It’s really scary stuff, and these aren’t just lone kooks. These are social media influencers with groups of followers and podcasts successful enough to make a career out of. It’s genuinely terrifying. 😟 ---

Eh… while I’m usually not inclined to give the benefit of the doubt to SovCit types, I don’t think this is what would conventionally be considered “prayer”. I’m assuming this is a video from when Trump was president. I suppose it could be after Biden became president too, though, if he subscribed to the QAnon theory that Trump was still the legal president working in the shadows. Right before he starts asking Trump to save him, he says “somebody tag in Donald Trump”, which I think means he wants someone to alert Trump of what’s happening in the video. So he might think that, if he’s been tagged in, the president will take one look at the video, grasp quickly that the SovCit is being done wrong, get on the phone to the local PD and clean things up for him just as soon as he sees what’s going on. I’m not saying he’s not a nut; I’m just saying he may not be a heretic to boot. ---

I had a horrific thought earlier. If Trump wins re-election he will talk about how he now has two numbers, 45 & 47, **all the time**. He will never shut up about how special that is and, yeah, one other president had two but nobody remembers him and he didn’t get more votes than anyone in history so only Trump really deserves two numbers, 45 & 47, but he just calls himself 47 because it’s a more beautiful number because it’s bigger but 45 is beautiful, too, and he is the best president ever. The merchandising alone will bring on nightmares. We can’t let that happen. ---
