People will keep bringing other explanations for Trump’s strange rise, and will argue that Trump = Racism is too simplistic to cover everything. I find it’s easier to concede that, yeah, there may be other stuff involved, but it’s only a small and insignificant part of his popularity. ---

I found that episode of Looney Tunes online, _[Southern Fried Rabbit](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Fried_Rabbit)_, and he didn’t have that line. I don’t think there were any other episodes with Sam as a Confederate. It sure **sounds** like something he would have said, especially after Bugs tricks him into blowing himself up and he sputters in a daze. ---

I wasn’t suggesting that _trump_ did not mean what he said. My point was that one might expect trump’s _spokesperson_ to try to dial back the rhetoric just a little bit. “What Mr. trump meant was…” followed by an interpretation that, however bogus, sounds calmer and saner. Instead, the spokesperson sounds every bit as batshit crazy as trump himself. ---

Today I saw a bumper sticker I had not seen before. I was wondering which trump thread to post to, and by luck it’s in context for the last few posts of this thread. So here it is.
