I have to say this was my thought as well. It’s sometimes difficult to tell if Trump is really as stupid as he sounds or if he just thinks his followers are that stupid. The thought that occurred to me while reading the last couple of posts was that this plays perfectly with his base because they see themselves in it. And I think that might really be the secret behind why his cult has been so successful. They see themselves in him, all the rank stupidity and stubborn pig ignorance on display. Hell I can see a standard cultist thinking exactly like this while having never considered it before. “Hey yeah! How would a solar powered plane fly if the sun went behind a cloud or something? Stupid scientists think they know more than me!” Well you see there are these things called batteries… ---

There are no shortage of stories from behind the scenes of people who were surprised or even shocked when they actually met him privately, thinking he was just playing the part of a buffoon publicly. It’s not entirely or even mostly an act. Though his views of the intelligence of his followers is also well known (he’s let slip a few times wondering why he’s stuck with the dregs and can’t attract any quality supporters). ---
