Not a soccer club. The worldwide organization governing soccer. The one that’s putting on its premiere international tournament in the United States (and Canada and Mexico) next year. And the folks who don’t want there to be any issues involved in putting that spectacle on - at least, any issues that might impact the bottom line. And this is par for the course for FIFA - game recognizes game. (At least, when the recognizer isn’t Donald Trump, who has little consciousness of when he’s being played.) ---

At least with the modern Olympics, it began as an attempt at international understanding through sport. But it’s been a long time since either it or the World Cup have been anything but a cynical money grab and opportunity at one-up-manship on the world stage. I.e. only a total idiot would think any “Peace Prize” given out by FIFA would be worth a damn. In that respect, they got it in one ---

Clearly a man whose entire interest is peaceful conflict resolution. ---
