I told my boss this morning that Trump’s impulsiveness stimulates my tic. Every time he threatens someone, my neck twitches hard from stress. I should ignore him but it’s hard to do that. ---

A Japanese reporter asked Trump why he didn’t tell allies of the impending attack on Iran. Ever the masterful diplomat, Trump answered that “You don’t want to signal too much [before an attack],” and further clarified, “Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn’t you tell me about Pearl Harbor?” The look on the Japanese Prime Minister’s face was fucking priceless. ---

There’s also the… remarkable… implications of Trump not understanding the difference between warning your allies of an impending attack on a target, and warning the target themselves. See, Mr. President, this is why military strategy communications are usually highly classified. For actual strategists, the official designation “TOP SECRET” on a document means something beyond “LOOK HOW SPECIAL IT MAKES ME TO HAVE ACCESS TO THIS VERY IMPORTANT PIECE OF PAPER THAT I CAN SHOW YOU TO IMPRESS YOU WITH HOW IMPORTANT I AM”. ---
