I associate it with real estate, as in a more-or-less tacit pact among property owners that they’d never sell to one of “those” people (not just Jews) and thus preserve the integrity of the neighborhood. A variant of [redlining](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redlining), designed to keep “them” in their place. ---

And as @OttoDaFe remarked, the phrase “gentleman’s agreement” is still connected with bigotry. If we’re talking ‘unwritten contract’ the more usual phrase would be “handshake agreement.” By contrast, the “gentlemen’s” phrasing implies one class of people protecting their status from incursion by some other class of people. ---

For what it’s worth, I’m 53 years old, and grew up in Southern Indiana and Kentucky, and I’ve never heard “gentleman’s agreement” used in a racial sense, either. ---

I saw where the Turd now has cops and National Guard people guarding the sewage pond against the libtards. And today we’re treated with the spectacle of them handing out a citation to a man for “destroying government property”. Seven cops surrounding this guy while one of them writes the ticket. Turns out that the man is a three-time Olympian canoeist who is on a 50 mile bike ride. He stopped to see the pool and then made the mistake of reaching in for a piece of the detached latex to see what its texture was. **SWARM! SWARM! SWARM!** Meanwhile, Shit For Brains is desperately trying to deflect from the fact that he hired someone incompetent on a no-bid contract and continues to make dark comments about the “dumocrats” who are sabotaging his good work. ---
