New info about the reflecting pool debacle. The company that repaired the pool 15 years ago was asked to do the repairs this time. They declined because two of Trump’s demands were determined to be unfeasible. (stupid). 1. The dark blue paint would increase water temperatures, and lead to increased algae growth. (the company knew this would happen) 2. The timeline to get it done by July 4, was impossible, because this would lead to a failure of adhesion of the paint,leading to it falling apart. The company knew this. So that’s why the truck bed repair company (Rhino linings) with contacts to Trump got the job - because they were too stupid to understand why these two demands were idiotic. So once again, the opinion of a qualified, experienced contractor is thrown away, because they want to conform to reality, instead of Trump’s preferred fantasy world. I think everyone should know that “Rhino Linings” is a useless company, and their products should be avoided at all costs. Regarding the algae growth, the [New York Times reports](https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/26/us/politics/reflecting-pool-trump-algae.html?unlocked_article_code=1.tVA.uGZT.Mh8zpVP1Pm3p&smid=url-share) (gift link) that generator-powered nano-bubblers were in place around the reflecting pool (to keep it clear of algae) until the June 12 UFC fight, when they were removed. They were reinstalled a couple of days later but by then the algae started to bloom. ---

The “plans” to the extent they exist appear to be of the wishful thinking variety. Iran is among the costliest of these “surely, things will go exactly the way I envision it” daydreams. At least the costliest this last month. But the reflecting pool, the East Wing, the tariffs, etc, etc, etc are all examples. You can see glimpses of a rationale but things that would only work if everybody else in the world had suffered brain damage What that demented moron doesn’t know literally fills volumes. In his youth, he should have been forced to read and understand at least one or two of those but alas ---

Yesterday I saw a personalized plate that read DJT␣ONE with a Madsen Flag in the middle (where the space is). It pisses me off that just a drive can make me mad and want to sideswipe another vehicle. I really should not have that kind of feelings when I am driving just by what I see rather when someone actually cuts me off. But here we are, and that is what he has done. `//i\\` ---

I hear ya @icon. Pisses many of us off. My wife and I are target shooters (handguns) and have our CCW permits (we don’t carry, no way, don’t want to). MAGA’s don’t realize that many reasonable people are armed. And we take lessons, and go to the range and practice. ---

Although it’s six years down the track now, I (for whatever masochistic reason my mind had conjured) decided to watch the Johnathan Swan/Donald Trump interview again. Fuck me, the narcissism leaps out every single time The Slimy Turd opens his mouth. But at least he was a wee bit more lucid back then, and could keep a train of thought on the track for longer than 10 second bites. And Johnathan Swan deserved some sort of medal for enduring that interview as long as he did. ---
