Anybody in the admin while simultaneously disloyal enough to leak is probably at risk of getting outed pretty quickly given the relatively few people who have full access. That’s a risk to be weighed, and I’m not convinced any principles these people putatively possess are sufficient to overcome their self-preservation instinct. ---

As for Obama being the supposed author of the Epstein files: in addition to the problem of Trump being the President when the bulk of the files were being collected by the FBI (Epstein was arrested and jailed in 2019), there is also the issue of why Bill Barr (or other Trump appointee) would have accepted files “made up” to harm Donald, from Obama. I mean, it’s going to be a hard sell for even the most dedicated conspiracy theorists. And what became of the files when Donald ceased being President? Common sense suggests that they might have been heavily mucked-about-with before Merrick Garland could get his own hands on them… ---
