Tl;dr: A Canadian longtime legal permanent resident of Point Roberts, WA was detained for hours at the birder, as she was returning to her home after her 61st birthday dinner. The ordeal left her frightened of crossing the border again. She told her immigration lawyer that she was not feeling well, and needed to see a doctor; But she was too afraid to cross through Canada to do it. She called a community support officer to ask if she could borrow some crutches.
