They’re not getting as much traction, but nativism/populism is simmering in Europe too. Else no one would pay any attention to Geert Wilders or Marine Le Pen, and Brexit would never have happened. ---

Well, I’ve lived in the US for as long as I’ve been alive, and I was still shocked and dismayed when that orange sack of crap proved that a significant percentage of my fellow americans are _also_ sacks of crap. I mean, I knew that large swaths of us are religious bigots, but that we were so evil as to _discard_ the morality that religion claims to hew to in order to vote in the worst possible excuse for a person? You may have been fully prepared for this, but I was caught rather by surprise - the only warning I had was the fact the stupid election had been running for sixty-five months prior to that and the turdbuckets had emerged from their holes gradually.
