# How I lost $2,000

**KD99** , do you have electronic access to your checking account, with bill paying capability through your bank? I figured out a few years ago that I can still set up auto-pay (or single) with companies that don’t take EFT’s. My bank just cuts a physical bank check with my info on it, and snail-mails it to the interested party at the address I provide. My last apt. management company and my current one get my payments this way. The bank mails the check 6 days prior to the “payment date” that I set up, so I have the “payment date” set as the 5th of the month since the bank and the apt. mgmt. company are both in Chicago and mail only takes 1 day.

I’ve written maybe 3 checks in the last 5 years! It’s worth looking into.

I do it the same way Sea Dragon does and it’s much easier then stamps and checks. I’d change banks as most have Bill Pay now. I even got my 70 year old Mom that travels a lot to use bill pay and she loves it. She can pay bills wherever she is on vacation. It’s even free so I no longer need stamps, envelopes, reordering checks all the time.
