If a different Congressperson yelled “You lie!” every time Trump uttered a falsehood, how many different Congresspersons would yell, and for what percentage of the SOTU speech would Congresspersons be yelling? ---

I saw quite a few people, including people who are at least sympathetic to him, who were annoyed, but it simmered down when it became clear that (A) he was doing it _after_ her response and (B) he had done it before without saying anything memorable. As someone who didn’t vote for him in 2016 and doesn’t anticipate voting for him in 2020, my view is…who cares? He’s going to have a much smaller platform than the official response, which is itself likely to be forgotten by the end of the week, just like the President’s speech will be. ---

I used to drink through W’s addresses. Slightly different drinking game every year, but all resulted in a very slow and generally painful following morning. Taught the anderling to hoot like a monkey every time W was on screen. Better times. ---
