To suggest this was faked is abhorrent to the families who lost loved ones and were injured during the incident.
If someone suggested violence and death against a liberal group was faked, we would rightly be appalled and requesting moderators step in with appropriate warnings. Its part of the Straight Dope’s charter in the fight against ignorance.
That seems like a major assumption to make.
In truth, misinformation from all sides in a place like P&E is heavily discouraged. There were suggestions of this incident being faked in the older thread(s) and they was properly debunked.
I assumed Jasmine was being sarcastic, since it’s an absurd suggestion.

I’m not a big fan of a forum devoted to knowledge deliberately refusing to discuss certain subjects. The President of the United States currently still believes that the 2020 election was stolen from him in some shadowy conspiracy, but we’re not allowed to talk about the fact that he, himself, may be behind a conspiracy?

Are you flat out stating that the Trump’s White House was behind the shooting and killing?.
We are not ‘refusing to discuss certain topics.’ I was pointing out that stating that this was a staged shooting to make Trump look good is an abhorant conspiracy theory.
We should be allowed to refuse to accept ridiculous theories, and call out ignorant statements.

Just for the record, the mod note was issued because it was the third post in another thread and the back and forth (as well as scale) of the plausibility was taking over the thread. It’s not a banned topic/CT, but given the huge scope of the suggested conspiracy in that thread it was going to be a major hijack. I suggested then, and do so again, that if you want to get into the complicated who/how/what of such a theory that it should be it’s own thread.

Choose Reply as linked topic and it starts a new thread. As an example, you can choose GD, IMHO or The Pit for it.
