Furthermore just because it’s the official language does not mean everyone in India actually speaks Hindi. ---

Quite true - it is the most commonly spoken language in India, but IIRC only between 50 to 60 percent of people speak Hindi proficiently. ---

Because there are some folks that confuse Indian as in Native American Indian or Indian from the country India just like some folks confuse Northern Ireland with the country of Republic Of Ireland and i was ignorant or guilty of the Ireland situation. ---

Yes you did. This whole scenario though has made me realize something about myself. When my radar picks up on racism I guess I just default to filtering that through white supremacy? Probably because that’s the form of racism I have the most experience with? (That last sentence is begging to be clipped and taken out of context) ---

IAN Imuseless and can’t speak for him, but the impression I got is that what he intended to say was “True, people in South India don’t speak Hindi”. His punctuation seems a bit erratic in general. ---

He didn’t put a comma. It sure looks bad, so perhaps it was intentional. I don’t know. I initially felt sorry for him. It sounds as if this person has mental issues and addiction problems. I’m inclined to assume he meant to put a comma in there, but the meaning is clear; he’s a brown Hindu, not one of those black southern Indians who don’t even speak Hindi. ---
