Watching Woodstock in pan-n-scan, which was most common before the director’s cut came out a few years back, effectively chops off the outside 2 of any 3-frame shots. :rolleyes:
Actually, it occurs to me that they might have used the occasional split-screen in Airport just to distract people from wondering why the hell Lincoln, Nebraska would have such a huge airport…
