# How long for the Cone of Shame?

I put a cone collar on my [kitteh](https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10105619464355305&l=a3a4a91f71) because my other [kitteh](https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10105619464355305&l=a3a4a91f71) took a chunk out of his cheek when they were wrasslin’. The gouge was not healing because Julian (the orange one) insisted on grooming Mosby’s cheek.

He’s been in the collar for about a week. The wound is completely scabbed over now, but I don’t know how much longer I should leave the collar on. Does the scab need to be gone completely? Because, by the looks of it, that’s going to be at least another week.

Run a (observed/chaperoned) field trial and see how interested Julian is with Mosby’s scab. That should give you some useful data, at least.
