How long till they quit publishing Felix Francis?

So, to answer the OP,: not by 2025.

Felix hasn’t published since 2022. Hands Down is a Sid Halley novel. He was publishing regularly every year.

I hope Felix made it past Covid ok.

He has a book coming out in two weeks.

I was going to get Dark Horse as an audiobook and see how it compared, but it isn’t being released until Oct. 29th.

But I’m disappointed. I need a book for a long road trip, and a “Ya gets 'zactly whatcha expected” audiobook is 'zactly what I need (so I can concentrate on the road… hey, I can miss a few minutes of a Dick/Felix Francis book and not lose the plot).

But since this thread started I did compare a classic Dick Francis with a Felix one, and there’s a drop in quality, but not enough that I won’t buy the next one.

Hey, where else are you going to get a protagonist who’s an archetypal “stiff upper lip” middle-class Brit, who, no matter what their job or hobby is , it’s somehow connected to horse racing?
(I could list a half-dozen other personality quirks that they all have in common, but it’s interesting that Felix copied those… bet ol’ Dad left him a list*.)

*#2: Under no circumstances is Horsey Guy to have a traditional or happy marriage.

I wonder if Felix still uses British Jockey Club investigators?

Dick Francis often used them as the protagonist in his books.

But, I’ve read the British Jockey Club doesn’t do that anymore. I think they use regular law enforcement?

The British Horseracing Authority now handles those investigations:
