I’ll grant that’s an idea but not that it’s an idea that could work.

A recent report is that [Amazon is developing a home robot](https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/innovations/wp/2018/04/23/amazon-is-reportedly-building-a-home-robot-an-expert-explains-how-close-we-are-to-the-jetsons/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.6609269b07c5) (Washington Post, just as an example, but source is Bloomberg).

If they “do the dishes, and fold your clothes” as good as roomba, soon. As soon as they do it _well_? Well, like the vacuuming, probably not in my lifetime.

And the odd thing is many people have gone backwards.

For example, living off the grid and using a wood stove for cooking and heating.

Well, lessee, there’s life-like [sexbots](https://www.maxim.com/gear/new-customizable-sex-doll-2018-1) already/in the works.
And there’s good progress on the [android development](https://www.forbes.com/sites/zarastone/2018/02/27/ten-incredibly-lifelike-humanoid-robots-to-get-on-your-radar/#6ce5e32834d2) front.
And Facebook-style portals as a socialization medium for shut-ins is becoming increasingly suspect.

Once all three demands can be met at the same time, we’re just one step away from getting the android to do the housework and fix sammiches. We’re nearly there. 20, 30 years tops.
