# How many arms/hands have been cut off in the Star Wars series (Obvious Spoiler Alert)

A lot of people have lost a limb in this series, and I was trying to remember them all–my poor memory failed me. I don’t feel the need to watch all six movies to find out, so here’s what I can remember off the top of my head:
1. Creature loses an arm in the bar scene in A New Hope when Obi Wan cuts it off to protect Luke.
2. Snow Monster of some sorts loses his arm when Luke chops it off at the beginning of Empire.
3. Luke loses his own arm when Darth Vader chops it off at the end of Empire.
4. Mace loses his arm to Anakin in Revenge of the Sith.
I know I have to be missing several, so please help fill in the blanks.

2 Tusken Raiders lose their heads by Anakin in Tatooine
Jango Fett is beheaded by Mace Windu
Vader loses his hand to Luke
Anakin loses 3 of his limbs to Obi-Wan
I assume you’re not counting droids–C-3PO gets dismembered several times.

Wasn’t there a thread a few weeks back that said ROTS had an anti-gay message? With all this hand-chopping, I’d say it had an anti-MASTURBATION message.

This is slightly off topic , but not really .
Over Memorial Day weekend I drove out to my best friend’s house in Virginia , and sorta had a movie-fest . Went to see ROTS and Kingdom of Heaven at the theater , and watched a shitload of DVDs.
Somewhere along the way , it dawned on us that there were hands being chopped off in almost EVERY movie we saw . Star Wars , Kingdom , King Arthur , The Two Towers , and I’m sure I am forgetting some . We got to giggling about it saying we wished we had kept track of all the hands being chopped off .
That’s all I have to say on the subject . Carry on .

Shortly after the old phoney was pontificating about a lightsabre being “an elegant weapon from a more civilised time”, he hacks off some drunk’s arm in a bar fight with it. Yeah, _real_ elegant.
