Thanks, SW geeks - this thread has given me the final reason not to see the current episode. (Though I’m known as an pretty virulent anti-Star Wars person, I was thinking of going with my daughter, since she wanted to go.) The idea of a hand getting chopped off literally makes me sick to my stomach. If it happened once in a film as part of a battle scene I could probably handle it, but not all this.
