# How many books can your e-reader hold?

Is there a way to check the available storage of the Paperwhite without plugging it to a PC? I’ve searched in the settings menu but could never find it.

Nevermind, I found it at last, it’s under Settings-Device Info. I’ve got 938 MB available of 2 GB, but I don’t trust the number of books that is shown. When I filter to only display books, it gives me a number of 120. When I show all contents, it is 243, but the number of collections is only 71. I don’t have any other contents like newspapers or documents on it, except for maybe the manual, so I wonder about that discrepancy. I suspect that the actual number of books is closer to about 170. I have many free books from [gutenberg.org](http://gutenberg.org) on it, maybe they are categorized differently than the ones from the kindle shop.
