I’m from Moncton, NB, eh? I once went to Loring AF Base, in Maine, and heard that some of the guys there didn’t know where Canada was… (Loring is about 15 minutes from the US/Can. border) I’ll just leave it at that… * * * I don’t suffer from insanity… I enjoy every minute of it! ---

Nova Scotia on my father’s side. Here’s something weird; everywhere I’ve been in Canada (which includes most of it) a small-to-medium percentage of her beer-drinkers drink it with tomato juice, sometimes even clamato juice. Some bars in northern Ontario, you had to ask specially to not get your pilsner “red”. I’ve done it, and it’s really quite good. But I mentioned it to a Cambridge, ON native and he claimed to have never heard of it. Ditto a Vancouverite, a fellow from Calgary, and a Halifax native. My own father has somehow developed either a sense of humor or a total amnesia about the subject. Is this only a rural Canadian habit? Geez, and I thought it was as Canadian as poutine, hockey, and a new PM in BC every two years. ---
