4 people in our house and: 3 X 3 seat couches 2 X 2 seat love seats 3 comfy chairs 6 dining room chairs 4 desk chairs 3 counter stools 1 vanity table stool 5 outside padded chairs 2 outside rattan chairs 1 outside rocking chair 4 outside plastic chairs 1 X 2 seat porch swing So that’s a total of 44 seats (if I’m adding correctly) or 11 seats per person. We hardly ever entertain, so we usually have all those seats to ourselves! ---

I live in a studio apt. I have one small armchair, one computer roller chair and a small rocking ottoman that could double as a seat. Other than my daybed, that’s it. ---

Hmmmmmmm… 2 sofas - 6 people 2 recliners 6 dining room chairs 4 chairs around the breakfast table 1 recliner and 1 rocking chair in master bedroom 1 recliner in guest bedroom 1 computer chair, 1 futon (seats 3) and two ladderback chairs in study 3 rocking chairs on back porch 12 chairs around two patio tables on back porch 1 bench on backporch that seats two 8 additional ladderback chairs in storage building Enough places for 32 people to sit around the pool when it’s all out there. Ok, that’s 83 places to have a seat around the swampcave. Hell, I mighta missed a few. No, I do not want to host 83 people at one time, thankyouverymuch. 😃 ---

let’s see… i have a couch that seats 4. 1 side chair that matches said couch. 4 dining chairs. 4 old dining chairs in the basement. 2 outdoor folding chairs. 1 computer chair. 2 folding chairs for camping. that’s what? 18 seats for one person? and i plan on buying 4 more folding chairs, a new couch, a stool, side chair, and 2 dining chairs. that’s 31 seats. oh, and i have plans to build a bench and a porch swing. i bet i’ll have 35 seats by summer, bitches! ---

I live in a one-bedroom apartment with my girlfriend. We have a futon (which doubles as a bed), a loveseat, two chairs in the living room, two desk chairs, and four chairs at the table near the kitchen. Unless my math skills have failed me (and that’s entirely possible), that means ten pieces of furniture designed for seating, and there are two of us…so, there are five chairs per capita in our residence. 🙂 ---

I live alone. I don’t have many guests. The most people I’ve ever had over was about six at one time. That was last year. I have: 4 dining room chairs 2 kitchen chairs 3 upholstered armchairs 8 wooden/metal straightback chairs in various places 2 office chairs 2 2-seater benches A chaise longue that seats 3 A couch that seats 3 None of that counts outdoor furniture. I also have a futon that seats 3-4 but I have it flat (like a bed) now, so I’m not counting it. So, I come out to 29 seats for just me. I think I am the highest chairs per capita so far, except for Calm Kiwi’s mother, but she’s not an Actual Board Member. ---

2 people in a one bedroom apt. We have- 5 dining chairs (The 6th was weakened by my wife and I, the broke when a friend of ours sat in it.) 2 office chairs 1 recliner 1 kneeling stool 2 directors chairs 1 chair with arms (I don’t know where it came from, it’s kind of like an old dorm chair) 1 folding chair (was part of a set, I don’t recall what happened to the other 3) So 13 chairs == 6.5 chairs per person. Plus the sleeper sofa (the sleeper part is not used). ---

We have: 4 kitchen chairs 1 wingback chair 1 big comfy chair 1 leather couch (seats 3) 1 cloth sofa (seats 3 or 4) 1 cloth loveseat (seats 2) 10 dining rooms chairs (rosewood with silk seats) 1 bench to sit on while taking off shoes 1 rocking chair outside 1 child’s sized bench 3 child sized wooden chairs 1 elephant chair (seats 2) I think that’s all. So 26 chairs, which seat 33. There are four of us in the house. So 6.5 chairs per person, and 8.25 seats. ---

I live alone, with two cats who don’t really care for seating options. I do have frequent visitors, but there’s usually no more than three at a time, except for parties and the like. I have: 4 chairs that go with the kitchen table 1 rolly office chair 1 metal folding chair 1 recliner Couch seating for 7 (two loveseats, one full-length couch) A wooden wagon-seat usually used for storage, but able to seat 2 skinny people in a pinch. And of course, most of my friends choose to sit on the floor. ---

Well, I have 8 dining chairs. 3 seater sofa 3 lounger chairs desk chair makeup chair so, I guess that makes 16. I live alone. I guess I do a lot of sitting. ---

Office: 3 Kitchen: 2 Middle Balcony: 5 Stored: 4 Car: 2 (in boot) My bedroom: 1 Bottom Balcony: 2 Guest room (has a convertible sofa): 5 Top Balcony: 7 Bar: 3 Living Room: 5 Entrance: 4 Dressing Room: 1 Total: 44 And there are 3 of us, so that makes 14.67 chairs each. We do have another 6 dining room chairs that are in storage away from the house, because at the moment we don’t have a dining room. (It’s okay, we live in Qld, Australia, so all our meals are eaten outside.) ---

Live by myself, have: 2 x 3 seater sofas 1 small beanbag chair 8 x dining chairs 1 kitchen stool 2 piano stools (crazy, only 1 piano) 2 computer chairs 1 guest room chair 1 x 5 seater component sofa 2 outside recliners 1 x 3 seater outside bench 1 swiss ball I sit on to watch TV Grand total of 32. ---

On recounting I found that I had missed a couple of chairs. So the new total in the Coil household is 30 chairs and 7 seats in sofas for a total of 37 seats. If one counts toilets as seats we have a nice round 13 seats per capita or perhaps 13 seats per derriere is a more correct term. :rolleyes: How about decorative pillows/cushions? I counted all pillows in the apartment as well. Not counting sleeping pillows or seat cushions we have 37 of them. :eek: Lamps you say? 35 of those. :eek: ---

Fairly small 1 bed apartment. 1.5 persons here – I live alone, but my boyfriend probably spends about 50% of his time here. More in the summer and on breaks, less in the school year. I rarely have more than three people in my apt at one time. 1 computer chair at the comp. desk 4 wooden chairs with the dining table 2 smallish arm chairs 2 -seater loveseat 1 drafting chair for my easels & drafting desk So, ten seating capacity, if you count the boyfriend as a full resident then it’s 5 chairs per capita. ---
