As a Lakers-Dodgers-Rams (L.A. only) & USC football fan, I probably have something of an embarrassment of riches by comparison to others: Dodgers (fan since 1971): 81, 88 Lakers (fan since 1980): 80, 82, 85, 87, 88, 00, 01, 02, 09, 10 USC (fan since 1972): 72, 74, 78 (UPI Poll), 03 (AP Poll), 04 (and not giving it back, regardless of NCAA sanctions) L.A. Rams (fan since 1971 until they left for St. Louis): none Total: 17 ---

Cleveland Indians last won the WS the year before I was born: 0 Cleveland Browns have won a few in my lifetime, but only one since I old enough to follow them in 1964: 1 Cleveland Cavaliers I don’t really follow but they’ve won none: 0 Boston Bruins (I started following hockey in college and there is no Cleveland team) won the Stanley Cup in 1970 1972 2011: 3 For a total of 4 ---

Alabama has 8 in my lifetime, but the one in 1965 was shortly after I was born, so the first one I remember was 1973. Guess that makes 7 since I’ve been following them. The New Orleans Saints have only 1, but how sweet it was… ---

So, uh, I’m pretty lucky. I grew up on the eastern side of CT, where it’s about 75% Boston sports fans, and both of my parents were from Mass, so that solidified that. I also grew up about 30 minutes from the University of Connecticut. As a result of that combination, I really couldn’t give half a damn about college football other than how much it’s ruining my beloved college basketball, and “my” teams have won a ton of championships since I got old enough to care about sports in the mid-90s. Oh, and I did my undergrad at Johns Hopkins, where I learned the joys of lacrosse. Since I started following the teams: UConn Men’s Basketball: 1999, 2004, 2011, 2014 UConn Women’s Basketball: 1995, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014 Johns Hopkins Men’s Lacrosse: 2005, 2007 Boston Bruins: 2011 Boston Celtics: 2008 New England Patriots: 2001, 2003, 2004 Boston Red Sox: 2004, 2007, 2013 2006 was a rough year. I don’t want to sound spoiled, but if the US Men could win a World Cup, that would just be swell. P.S. I’m currently in a graduate program at Boston College, and since neither UConn nor JHU had a serious hockey team (though UConn just recently moved up to D1 and into a real conference), I got pretty into BC hockey this year, went to a bunch of games including the NCAA regional in Worcester. The team lost in the Frozen Four this past week, but if you wanted to set odds on future championships… ---
