Cities I’ve lived in: Toronto, ON (the indented cities are essentially Toronto but are or were cities of their own officially) - Scarborough, ON - Mississauga, ON - Ajax, ON - Markham, ON - Brampton, ON Ottawa, ON Calgary, AB Edmonton, AB (for one very very long winter) Many more places but none large enough to be called a city. ---

Charlotte, VT Burlington, VT Bolingbrook, IL St. Charles, IL Menominee, MI Boise, ID Sun Valley, ID Melba, ID Portland, OR Eugene, OR Bloomington, IL Dutch Harbor, AK \ Virginia Beach, VA Imperial, CA Huh, only 14. Seems low to me, probably 'cause I’ve lived in a couple of those places a few different times. ---

Do places you lived as a child count…? Chronoligically (there are repeats, but in the order of first time in each) ## Cambridge, MA (if being a baby there counts) Tel Aviv, Israel (actually last chronlogically if living with parents doesn’t count – done both) Newton, MA Rochester, NY Haifa, Israel Bnei Braq (technically, in reality across the street from Ramat Gan) Israel So – 5 or maybe 6. Been living continuously in Tel Aviv for the past 23 years (currently on my third apartment – been _here_ for 21 years!) ---

Technically, I’ve only actually lived in four cities – Cambridge MA Rochester, NY Binghamton, NY Salt Lake City, UT But I’ve lived in the suburbs, _very_ close to New York City Boston MA ---

Mine was chronological, and anyone raised as a military kid will know straightaway that I was raised the same, and most will be able to tell what branch my dad was in. 🙂 ---

Counting city names, not zip codes, addresses, or move backs: Michigan City, IN Niles, MI Eastpointe, MI, when it was know as East Detroit Goshen, IN West Lafayette, IN Angola, IN Bedford, IN Indianapolis, IN Hampton, VA Gatesville, NC Lexington Park, MD That makes 11, arguably 10. ---

1. Air force brat era: Dayton, OH Birmingham, AL (I think… this is before I can remember anything) Dayton, OH (again) Albuquerque, NM Livonia, MI Oberlin, OH Post-college vagrancy era: Cambridge, MA Boston, MA Somerville, MA Stoughton, MA N. Kingstown, RI I’ve been moving every summer since the start of college. Sometimes twice, when I had some sort of temporary summer housing. Now, finally, I get to stay in one place for a few years. I’ll probably move again sometime next summer (when my wife finishes her MS) but I’m anchoring us around Providence for the next five years at least. ---

Los Angeles Long Beach, CA Palo Alto, CA Minneapolis Chicago That’s all there’s going to be in the US. If I leave Chicago, I’m going back to LA. As much as I love Philly and would like to give living there a whirl, I’ve lost my patience with picking up and going new places where I don’t know anyone. If I leave the US, I’d go to Costa Rica because it’s awesome and my family’s there. Could potentially go to Italy with spouse. TBD. ---

The people living only in one city are very interesting to me…as are the ones who have lived in numerous countries (military?). Mine was also in chronological order, and I almost got to start off with Santa Cruz, CA, since I was born there, but my only living address there was the hospital. My mom went straight from the hospital to Wapato, WA to meet back up with my dad, who had moved up a couple weeks before.
