I live in the USA. Visited: Mexico Spain Portugal Germany I’ve gotten within a few yards from Canada many times, but never crossed the border. ---

Not too many. Would be very few if I didn’t have the Army foot the bill on most. USA: live and grew up. Trips up through high school: Canada Ireland Army: Germany, stationed there for two years France England Switzerland Austria Belgium Luxembourg Post 911 deployments: Cuba Kuwait Iraq Other vacations: Dominican Republic Bermuda I’ve seen Mexico from El Paso but never went. Touched down in a couple of airports but I’m not not counting those countries. ---

I love traveling, but, not too many for me yet. I don’t count flight commections or quick drive-throughs. And I note if I’ve driven {d} or ridden a motorcycle {m} in that country. As of July 2017 it’s been 32 countries. None since then. USA Mexico aaand that’s it. And I only include Mexico because on one family trip we drove over the southern border, turned around, and came back without ever getting out of the car…specifically so we could say we’d been to a different country. ---

Not nearly as many as we want: USA (home) \*the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands is a US commonwealth, but since few people have even heard of it, I want to give it an honorable mention. Home for 6 years. Japan We were abandoned by our airline in the Seoul airport for several hours, but we never left it. Netherlands–home for 3 years, but we could not travel behind the Iron Curtain, so: Germany (when it was West Germany) Belgium Luxembourg (drove through) France Italy (and Vatican City) Spain Austria Switzerland Leichtenstein (drove through) England, Scotland, and Wales Denmark (rode a train through) Norway I have never been to Canada or Mexico. I hope to travel into Canada someday, if we ever get to move home to Indiana. ---

22-24: United States Canada Bahamas South Korea Australia China New Zealand Mexico British Virgin Islands (Overseas Territory) and similarly Netherlands Antilles Turkey Greece Italy Vatican City Germany Switzerland France Portugal Belgium Netherlands United Kingdom/Northern Ireland Ireland Denmark Sweden And all but 1 U.S. States, 2 Canadian Provinces, and ~6 Mexican States so pretty intense driving in North America. Not counting my native USA and countries in which I never left the airport: Canada Mexico Dominican Republic Israel Brazil Ecuador Germany India The Philippines The Netherlands Belgium (While I was visiting the Netherlands, I took a few day trips and bike rides to places in Belgium. So I don’t know if I can count Belgium as a place I’ve really visited.) The UK (I spent 19 hours in Manchester. About half of that time was spent sleeping and showering, and a couple hours more were devoted to getting to and waiting in the airport. I spent the rest of my time wandering around and eating things, though I’m not sure that’s enough to really say I’ve visited the country.) So, that’s either 10, 11, or 12, depending on how you count. Not counting my native US: - 4 that I’ve spent at least a couple nights in - 1 that was a daytrip only - 2 of the airport only type. One of those there wasn’t an airport though. Getting off the plane for refueling still meant smelling the air and seeing the terrain surrounding the airbase as I walked across the tarmac. Not bad for never having had a passport.
