# How many cubic yards of mulch do I need?

I want to cover about 600 sq. ft. of flower beds with about 3 inches of mulch.

Can some one please be kind enough to tell me how many yards of mulch I need to order?

3 inches is 1/4 (.25) foot.  
600 square feet X .25 feet is 150 cubic feet.

150 cubic feet / 27 cubic feet (the number of cubic feet in a cubic yard) is 5.555555+ cubic yards, so buy six.
