I discovered the Dope sometime in the latter half of 1999 or the first half of 2000, shortly after I started my first job as an adult; I was 18 or 19 at the time. Whenever the boss was out, my co-worker and I would fire up the ol’ dial-up internet in our little office in rural South Dakota (very literally rural; just east of the Wyoming border, on a ranch) and I would read Cecil’s columns on the main site, which then led me here. So at this point, I’ve been a regular around here for well over half of my life (mostly as a lurker).
