6-7. On Saturday/Sunday, wife and I cook enough food to have leftovers on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (and sometimes Thursday). Thursdays we go grocery shopping and grab burritos from Chipotle, come home, put the groceries away, and eat.
Occasionally we’ll cook something on the weekend that doesn’t give us enough leftovers for the week, so we eat out an extra time or two.
Nice. Looks like you eat quite healthy food. Btw, beans and rice and chicken count very well as well as left over food from that was cooked at home. Btw its dinner time here, I just ordered dry veg manchurian to be delivered at home.
Thanks to you and all others for sharing. Keep it coming.
A ratty little mom & pop. The son owns it, and his retired father works for free for him. Mr Retiree used to be a bigshot ceo of his consulting company, and I’m sure never ate a bagged lunch past grade school in his life. So despite “not being able” to give me a lick of other benefits such as paid sick days, they decided to give me a free lunch every day because that’s the only way Mr Retiree knows how to live.
I get to sit at work and listen to Mr Retiree moan about how taxes are so, so high and awful (how could they make me pay school tax when I don’t have a kid in school!!!), and how will he ever survive (with his 3 horses, two farms, and four houses), while they can’t even give me a sick day. Then he moans and groans about how awful eating lunch out is, but how he can’t be bothered to make his own lunch either.
Yeeeeeah.
THe lunch thing made my job sound better than it is.
I cook almost every day, usually protein and veggies; nothing boxed. I rarely buy anything boxed although sometimes on a major grocery day I’ll get a frozen or Little Caesar’s pizza on the way home. If I don’t cook it’s probably leftover night. Once every few weeks we’ll have hot dog night (kids’ favorite) but I’ll make homemade side dishes to go with it.
Lunch for me is usually a sandwich or leftovers.
I very, very rarely eat out.
My roommate works as a dispatcher for a concrete company and his boss pays for lunch every day. Usually enough that he has leftovers for dinner that night.
