There’s some chronological complication somewhere in the list, but this is roughly the order: Columbus, OH Syracuse, NY Chillicothe, OH Springfield, OH Aberystwyth, Wales State College, PA Paris, France Seattle, WA …so, 8. ---

I have a problem with the term “city”, since some of the places that I’ve lived in have been urban areas but not (strictly speaking) cities. So, here we go: North Sydney, NSW – born there, but it was a municipality then, and not a city. Warringah Shire, NSW – urban, but not a city. Leicester, England Leeds, England Newcastle, NSW\* St Pancras, England (metropolitan borough within the county of Greater London) Randwick, NSW (municipality) Canberra, ACT (called a city, but not incorporated as a city separate from the rest of the ACT) Columbus, Ohio Washington, DC (which I’m counting because it was the address I got my social security card at). - which I’ve lived in on several separate periods, so I regard it as (in a sense) my home town. ---

I haven’t lived in as many “cities” as I have “towns”, so I’ll leave some of these generic (anti-stalking, donchaknow). Niagara Falls, NY Small Town, CA (near Sacramento) Back to Niagara. Small Town in northern Maine. Orono, ME (college). Another small town in northern Maine (more college) Portland, ME and 6 different suburbs (and/or nearby towns) thereof San Francisco, CA Oakland, CA And back to Maine, but no new towns/cities. Counting up … 14 different cities/towns, and probably close to 40 seperate residences (I went through a stretch where I moved to a new apartment every year – don’t ask me why). ---

I’ve lived in some pretty small towns, so once you get below say 500 population I’ll just list the nearest large community within walking distance: Dunkirk, NY (including the several years spent at a small community on the shores of Lake Erie where, despite the fact I don’t like the beach or swimming I didn’t know how good a location I was in.) Fredonia, NY (including the several years spent on a farm on the outskirts which was techinically in another township, the closest community with a crossroads and a business being Laona, the home of american Spiritualism.) Sarasota, FL. Ithaca, NY (Cornell.) Orlando (UCF) Sarasota again (couldn’t get a job.) Palm Bay, FL (got a job.) Orlando, again (got another job.) Condo/apartment in both Palm Bay and Orlando, now (got yet another job.) ---

Lennoxville Québec (now Sherbrooke) Kippenheimweiler, Germany Rock Forest Québec (now Sherbrooke) Guelph, Ontario Hamilton, Ontario Montreal, Québec 5 or 6, depending on how you count it, since at the time Lennoxville and Rock Forest were separate municipalities, but have now been absorbed into Sherbrooke. And just for fun: 9 different homes ---

I’ve never lived in a city, but I lived in the town of Gordonsville, VA during most of my teen years. It’s most notable feature is a traffic circle, unusual for Virginia. ---
