Canada - google.ca

China - [google.cn](http://google.cn)
Australia - google.com.au
New Zealand - google.co.nz
How many google domains are there that lead to a google search engine?
I don’t count [google.org](http://google.org) cause it doesn’t lead to a google search engine

Those aren’t domains, though. They’re subdomains.
[www.google.com](http://www.google.com) and [www1.google.com](http://www1.google.com) are at the same DOMAIN.
[www.google.com](http://www.google.com) and [www.google.co.uk](http://www.google.co.uk) are not.
There’s also nothing special about the fact that Google and Yahoo use www, www1 and www2. They could use [bigserver1.google.com](http://bigserver1.google.com) and [shitserver1.google.com](http://shitserver1.google.com) if they wanted, and those subdomains would serve the same purpose.

That is a terribly written (and extremely wrong) explanation and should not be relied upon by anyone.
Subdomains are completely arbitrary and have no intrinsic mappings to individual machines, load balancers, or data centers, except those provided by whomever manages the DNS. There is no requirement that a subdomain like www1 or www2 be a mirror; it could point to an entirely different thing altogether. Further, the use of the term ‘mirror’ to describe Google’s and Yahoo’s multi-level load balancing across dozens of datacenters with _hundreds of thousands_ of nodes is nonsensical.
I won’t even go into the author’s odd use of the word ‘mainframe.’

They also have various misspellings of the above which redirect, like gogle and such, listing all of those and the fact that typing in goooooooooogle up to a significant amount of O’s will also redirect you would expand the list considerably. (Actually, I think a few up there even go to the same place)
This isn’t even scratching the surface of ALL of google’s domains though, simply the search ones like you asked.

When I tried doing random searches, the problem I found was some are
like [google.co.uk](http://google.co.uk)
and for other countries you can just use the country TLD with google, so I might miss one. I emailed Google, but it’s doubtful they’ll email back

I think a better question is why Google apparently owns things like [essentialmommy.com](http://essentialmommy.com), [mariolovespasta.com](http://mariolovespasta.com) and [thesecretofburritos.com](http://thesecretofburritos.com). According to TechCrunch, Google owns literally thousands of domains under the .com tld alone. Who knows about the other tlds…

The other names are probably ideas that never came around to be or to prevent names from being used.
Domains are cheap around $7/year so Google can afford to buy ones try it and then if they forget to cancel it it auto renews each year

It’s in the middle of nowhere. The British occupied it after they put Napoleon on St Helena they are sort of in the same area.
