I make my own light bulbs. I use material from my original Apple Macintosh and whatever I have lying around the house. Melting down the CRT wasn’t too difficult but teaching myself to blow glass took a full afternoon. My first bulb still works, and gives off a nice rosy glow! ---

The OP probably doesn’t honestly need to change a light bulb, nor does he or she probably care how many Dopers it would take. There is a particular word that describes people on the internet who post things not out of sincerity but to only get a rise/reaction out of people, but since we aren’t in the pit, I can’t use that word here! 😉 ---

I don’t know your situation, but why do you think you need to change a light bulb? Changing houses is probably a better idea. ---

Turns out it doesn’t need changing. Seems I was sitting in the cold and the dark, getting up the gumption to change the light bulb, when somebody opened the refrigerator door. Problem solved, but now the heat is getting in. ---

Is the light bulb used to power a 1920’s Style Death Ray? If so, we must use Incandescent Bulbs, not Fluorescents. 1920s Style Death Rays being based on the same technology as Lava Lamps, this becomes obvious. To the thinking man, that is. ---

I taught myself much more advanced electrical work than that by the age of 3. I just taught myself how to read first and then studied basic electrical engineering in my playpen. Changing light bulbs was dead simple as soon as I became tall enough to reach the fixtures. In fact, I rewired my whole house by the time I was 4. I have mentioned that in other threads and it turns out that it isn’t unusual. Anyone with an IQ over 200 could do it. ---
