There are only two landmarks in Corpus Christi, Tx to visit. Three, if you count the original Whataburger. Only driven past there. But I’ve visited the USS Lexington and the state aquarium. Actually, the aquarium might not count as a landmark. Just an attraction. ---

Or to Sun Studios, though I’ve passed that many, many times. I have been in the Pyramid but I don’t imagine I’ll ever go there when it becomes the Bass Pro Shop! How embarrassing is that? We have this iconic building, symbol of ancient Egypt, and soon it will house one-stop shopping for all your sporting good needs. :dubious: ---

Based on this list of [Glasgow, UK’s attractions](http://www.glasgowguide.co.uk/places.html), I’ve mainly missed the Provand’s Lordship and the Gallery of Modern Art. Some of the other named things are more recent (Science Museum, Lighthouse) and others are too obscure to bother with, as far as I’m concerned! (Martyrs School, Scotland Street Museum). ---

I’m sure there are others, but here in Los Angeles, one that comes to mind is the [Watts Towers](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watts_Tower)… I’ve always meant to go see it, but I’ve lived here for over 20 years now and haven’t made it yet. ---

There are monuments for the Japanese internments, the Men of the Titanic who sacrificed themselves for women and children, Einstein - Man of the Century, etc etc. Never been to Fort McNair which is the 2nd oldest fort in the US. Never been up the Washington monument, or the Cathedral. Now I feel like a slacker. I’ve been to almost all of the DC sites, but all that shit is for school kids and tourists, and those are really the only reasons I’ve ever been to any of those places: when I was in school and when people visit from out of town. Really, the only major attraction I go to on my own is the zoo because, well, because I like the zoo. ---

I think the best thing about DC are the museums (and the zoo). I love just walking into the National Galleries and wandering around, sometimes just kind of cutting through the buildings to get somewhere else. As you say, the rest of the landmarks are for the schoolkids and out of town guests. ---

I haven’t been to the [Eureka Tower](http://www.eurekaskydeck.com.au/), though it’s a relatively new thing and I believe it’s an expensive visit for what it is. I’ve never been into the [Arts Centre](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arts_Centre_Melbourne) (though I have been into the [Concert Hall](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamer_Hall_%28Australia%29) right next to it a couple of times), the [Art Gallery](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Gallery_of_Victoria), or [Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healesville_Sanctuary). I also haven’t been to anything wine or food related, no restaurants or vineyards of note. But I have, however, been to [Philip Island](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Island), though I didn’t stay to see the penguins, [Great Ocean Road](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Ocean_Road) and the [Twelve Apostles](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Twelve_Apostles_%28Victoria%29) and [Loch Ard Gorge](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loch_Ard_Gorge), [Melbourne Zoo](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne_Zoo), [Werribee Zoo](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werribee_Open_Range_Zoo), and the [MCG](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MCG). ---
