There’s another movie in the Star Wars cycle doing the rounds at the moment: some of you may have heard of it. Some of you may even have seen it. That is, judging from the number of current threads either on it or directly related to it {someone’s _magnum opus_ “Could Batman Beat Up Darth Vader?”, for example}: 12 in Cafe Society, 1 in IMHO, and even 2 here in the Pit. Now, I quite like Star Wars. I don’t mind a bit of Star Wars here and there. I have no general objection to people talking about Star Wars, but 14 bloody threads worth? Are there no wars? No famines? No earthquakes? No Republican SUV drivers with squalling children declawing helpless kittens? No mods or admins wantonly trampling freedom of expression underfoot? Is nothing else _happening_ in the world that’s worth discussing? Fuck me, for the fucking sake of all that’s fucking fuckable, can we have a fucking moratorium on fucking Star Wars threads? Talk about something else, for the fucking love of fucking fuck. Fuck! ---

The movie has been out for lkess than a week, so this is the time when it will surely have the most threads. However, this too shall pass and eventually there will be another event or fad about which “too many” people will wish to post. I’m not sure why these things always compel some individual to complain that the phenomenon exists. I do, however, congratulate you on your choice of method to complain about excessive SW threads– by opening a new SW thread. 😉 ---

What I really need to know is WHICH SW thread do I post this anecdote about SW in? The millisecond the credits flashed on the screen, I was out of my seat running for the door 'cause I had to pee like a Russian racehorse. The Force must have been with me as I was the first to arrive at the porcelain altar. As a stream of used Sierra Mist flowed from me to rejoin the oceans, my urinal mates began commenting on the movie. “Pretty good flick.” says the first. “Yeah”, I agree, “just about a half hour too long!”. Chuckles from urinal mate 1. “It was awesome!”, says 10 year old kid at last urinal. “You know they’ll have to make a sequel to it!” “They already did”, says I, “About 30 years ago!” Appreciative laughter from rapidly growing line of slower moviegoers as I zip, flush, wash and leave. So **CS** , since you’ve apparently already read all the other threads, which one do you think woud be most appropriate for my little story? TIA, Rhubarb. 😃 ---
