The ones I missed, I wanted to catch up on, but not really on video. I’ve actually owned all those DVDs for years (well, not sure about Platoon, I’d have to check), but even with a serious home theater (I’m talking ceiling-mounted projector and 4’x7 screen) they really demand an actual theater. It’s a silly dilemma but it’s how I feel now. I might feel different in the future. Hey, if they’re played in a real theater, on film, I’d jump at the chance. ---

I’ve seen most of them, but looking at this list just confirms that overall they are pretty awful and unworthy of the term ‘best picture.’ ---

About 20. Have not seen but probably will see _The King’s Speech_. Have not seen and don’t ever plan to see _Chicago_. Haven’t seen but might someday watch _Titanic_ and _Million Dollar Baby_. I haven’t seen _Driving Miss Daisy_ or _The Last Emperor_ in a single straight-through sitting. ---

All but _Crash_ and _The English Patient_ although I have seen a little of each of those two with no desire to see the rest. ---

I’ve seen 11, and looking over the list, I’m hard-pressed to come up with more than one or two others that I have _any_ interest in seeing. ---

I’ve only seen six. I’ve tried to watch about ten others, but found them uninteresting. Others I’ve found unappealing. I mean, c’mon, a Holocaust movie does not have to be all that good to win Best Picture. ---

11 including “American Beauty”. I’ve only seen 5 in theaters. I’ve seen parts of three more. Three are in my Netflix queue already, tho! ---

I’ve only seen 17 of them. Most of the ones I haven’t seen are the newer ones. Kids have changed my movies going habits apparently. I look forward to seeing _The King’s Speech_, it looks excellent but I will watch it on TV. I find it interesting the often reviled \*Gump \*was seen by the most Dopers. ---

The two that I’ve seen are \*The English Patient \*and _Titanic_. I’ve seen significant chunks of two others: _Platoon_ and _Silence of the Lambs_. ---

13 that I voted for. I’ve seen most of 4 more, and am completely blanking on whether I’ve seen LOTR:ROTK. I read the books around the time the movies came out, but I don’t recall whether I actually saw the movie or not; it certainly didn’t make much of a lasting impression. ---

_Shakespeare in Love_ is a lot of fun. It does for Shakespeare (and showbiz in general) what _GalaxyQuest_ did for science fiction. You might have to know a bit about Shakespeare or the Elizabethan period to get all the jokes, though. ---

Hmm 15 I’ve seen. Longest straight run was 1997-2003. It kind of feels to me like since then, the nominees have slowly strayed away from the popular and towards the indy.
