They get this board back and running, and yet, the hampsters appear to still be on vacation. Anyway, if this is what I’m guessing it was, a thread about withdrawal from SDMB- yep, I had it BAD!

It wasn’t nearly as bad as the great crash. I kind of felt it like phantom pain. It wasn’t there, but I still felt I had it.

My internet connection crashed this week.
On top of no SDMB, I was left with no e-mail, no friends’ private boards, no IM, and no LiveJournal.
I couldn’t handle it. Every day this week I hid in the library, right under the sign that says “This is NOT a cybercafe” and messed with the internet until I got kicked out.
I wonder if library computers are the internet addict’s version of dirty needles.

I did, slightly. Luckily, I had other things to keep me busy on the Net. 😉 (and a birthday party where I spent five hours at Red Robin’s) But that didn’t stop me from bugging everyone via IM to see if the board was back up!

Hey, that’s what happened to me right before the Great Boards Crash. We lost our internet connection for about 70 hours (the horror!) because they screwed something up while updating the cable lines around town. I _finally_, three whole days later, log on to see what I missed, and there it was on the SD homepage: a message, only 12 hours old, about the boards being down due to being hacked. I nearly cried.
I only checked about 8 or 10 times to see if it was back up, this time 🙂

During the Great Winter, I lived in Beloit, Wisconsin, and hadn’t yet made any friends outside of the internet.
Talk about crying.

I was -so- incredibly bored this week. It’s kinda pathetic. I could be doing something else. I could be working out, or looking for a better job, or trying to keep my apartment in better shape.
Instead–I kept hanging by the computer, even though with no Straight Dope, there was nowhere interesting to surf. 😛

Yes I did as Theres nothing to do here after 10 pm and I dont read other boards and anyone i talk to on aim had a early night
