Absolutely yes, even knowing how grueling the training is likely to be. It’s terrible that accidents happen, but we don’t threaten to shut down the airlines every time an airplane crashes, do we?

If I KNEW I’d die, of course I wouldn’t go. I have a family to support. That’s crazy. I’d be selfish to put a thrill above my responsibilities.
But if they said “We’re sending up the next mission in March come hell or high water” as it stands, and invited me along, I’d have my suitcase packed in ten minutes. I’ll take the risk.

Not _knowing_ that I would die. But, if the flight had the same risk as any other shuttle flight before now…yeah, I’d go. In a second.

The cargo bay doors must be opened during space travel (for 1st class cabin a/c). I guess a few can launch/reenter in the cargo bay but the cabin is going to get very crowded during orbiting. I don’t think NASA can get the windows put in in time for the next flight too, perhaps a tv camera.

Oh yes I’d go! And forget about packing–I figure NASA wouldn’t approve of my choices of attire anyway. It would be a matter of how quickly I could get to the launch pad!
Of course, I could provide no valuable service to the mission. And given my incredible klutziness on earth, I can hardly imagine the trouble I’d get into in zero gravity!

Well chalk me up as one who wouldn’t go. I wouldn’t go even if they guaranteed me a safe return. I am too chicken to fly. Even before 9-11 I was that way.

If NASA ever decides that they need a fat 40-ish broadcast engineer aboard, I’m your guy! I know there are those who will tell me that I don’t understand the risks involved.
Believe me, I understand the risks. All of them.
I’d still fight to be first in line! Even for the next flight.
