One of my Facebook friends died a few years ago. This isn’t counting all the silly profiles people have made for dead composers, Queen Victoria, etc., who I’ve added as friends because I thought they were funny. ---

3, My Mother who passed away almost 2 years ago, my Aunt who passed from cancer 6 months ago and my first real boyfriend who drowned 7 years ago. ---

I had one, but this thread reminded me to unfriend him. He was merely an acquaintance who happened to have the same first name of me. We had a lot of the same friends and saw eachother around at times at various things, but I never really got to know him. He probably looked me up on facebook one night and friended me… but anyhow he died of a drug overdose a few months ago. ---

One. A high school friend’s husband had cystic fibrosis, which finally claimed him last year. When I first Facebook friended him back in 2010 or so, we said that we should get together and play board games sometime, since he and his wife enjoyed that kind of thing. We never did and now I guess we never will. ---

One, a real-life local friend who was killed in a car accident several years ago. Generally, his profile is completely inactive, but occasionally he’ll show up as a “People you might want to invite” when mutual friends post events, which is slightly creepy. Still, I can’t bear to unfriend. ---
