# How many original Star Treks were there?

I’m told its 72, but the Menagerie was a 2 part. Does it count for 1 or 2 episodes?

There were 79. That counts _ **The Cage** _ as two episodes.

_ **The Menagerie** _ was never aired, so it isn’t counted. _ **The Cage** _ was made from _ **The Menagerie** _’s footage, with additional story framing it into the revised cast.

You’ve got it mixed up. “The Cage” was the pilot, that never aired whole, and got cut down into “The Menagerie” later on. I don’t see why it shouldn’t count now, since it has been aired, but I’m not in charge of these things.

Yep. You’re right. After a mistake like that, I’ll have to start over on earning my Trek Geek merit badge.
