I’ve been wondering about the demographics of this board off and on; while there are plenty of Dopers in their thirties and forties, and a cluster of us right around fifty, it seemingly thins out after that. But I know we’ve got a few sexagenarians in our midst. There was recently a thread celebrating **DesertGeezer** ’s 61st birthday, and **LouisB** mentioned in a current IMHO thread that his first job was bagging groceries for 50¢ an hour back in 1954; it’s a safe bet he’s over 60 too. IIRC, **Zoe** has also mentioned being of that age. So, who else do we have who will admit to having spent 60 years on this planet? ---

IIRC, **David Simmons** mentioned listening to a boxing match in the 1930s, which places him very possibly in his 80s, and at least his 70s. ---

**David Simmons** was a B-26 crew member (pilot, I think) operationally deployed in WWII. The youngest he could conceivably be would be about 77. ---

There’s also **ageless6**. Although I believe there was some controversy over the “6” being his 6th decade, which would put him in his 50’s. I think it was resolved that it was meant to represent his age. ---

It comes to mind that I tend to think of each and every poster on this board as in their early 30s, unless they say something to the contrary, or I have met them. I guess it’s because I like you all so much, you must be just like me. ---

I do the same thing as **GingerOfTheNorth** ; unless I see something to change my impression, I think of dopers as either “about my age” (31) or “in high school.” F’rinstance, throughout **John Carter of Mars** ’s whole neighbor/beekeeping/mail-order bride/gold-sluicing boat fiasco (which was one of the most awesome stories I’ve ever read on this board), I was picturing him as maybe 35, and the neighbor as maybe 40 for some reason. Only reading this thread did I find out otherwise. Oh, and **RTFirefly** looks and talks like Groucho in _Duck Soup_.
