# How many paying members do we have now?

That’s interesting. [The last time I checked](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=5037395&postcount=23) (which is pretty close to the last time these numbers were publicly available), we had 3,952 paying members as of 2004-07-01, and 63 people who subscribed in the prior 25 days or so. In the intervening 3 months, then, we’ve gained almost 200 subscribers, which averages out to be roughly 66 per month. If we were to take a flying leap based on this (admittedly meager) data, it appears that subscriptions are happening at a fairly steady rate of around 65 or so per month.

Yep. The next interesting data point will be when renewal subscriptions come up and we see what the churn rate looks like.
