I was away this weekend; stayed in two different houses, in different states, too. Taking a shower yesterday, there were 10 different personal cleaning products (as opposed to shower cleaning products), a bar of soap & nine bottles of soap, shampoo, &/or conditioner. Three people normally use this bathroom. However, that pales compared to Sat morning when there were 17(!) different bottles in the shower. I swear ½ the hot water was gone by the time I figured out what I should use. I have _considerably_ less in my shower. Just trying to figure out what a normal amount is. ---

4 would be my best guess. 1 full and 1 semi-used bar of soap are definitely there, and the shampoo is on the edge of the bathtub. The fluoride mouthwash is also on the edge of the tub because of limited space in my bathroom, and perhaps the toothpaste as well but I’m not 100% certain of that. ---

1 bar of soap, 1 bottle of shampoo, 1 bottle of conditioner (which I never use but my wife does), 1 can of shaving cream if you count that. ---

I have two sets of product, one that I use and one that’s always in there in case guests come around. My products are only three: Shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I used to have two body washes and would alternate them, but I used up one of them. The guest products are shampoo, conditioner and body wash. That’s it. ---

A bunch. Different bar soaps. Liquid soap. Shampoos and conditioners. Way too many. I’m a sucker for nice body washes and soaps. I think 17 is a lot, you’re right. ---

One soap, one shampoo, one conditioner. Sometimes wife has an additional liquid soap. We simply don’t have the shelf space for more than six or seven. ---

1. Some body wash which doubles as shampoo. Which is an improvement, I guess, given I used shampoos as body washes since the age of 12. If you count my razor, then 2. ---

We have one bar of soap which we both use. I have one bottle of shampoo. My wife, however, has two bottles of shampoo and four tubes of unknown and unlabelled substances in there. Since we buy our own liquid soap and lotion bases direct from a local manufacturer, they might be anything that can be made from those two starting points. For purposes of this discussion: four. When the girlchild was living with us, there could easily have been 17 bottles of shampoo and conditioner lined up on the edge of the tub, to the point that it was hard to climb in. ---

1 shared bar of soap. 2 bottles of my shampoo, 1 empty and the other half-full. The empty is there because I just don’t think about what’s in the shower when I’m not in the shower, so I forget to throw it away basically the moment I step out. 3-4 bottles of my wife’s stuff. I don’t know what any of it is. Different shampoos and conditioners I assume. ---

Shampoo that we both use. Bar of soap that spousal unit uses. Bottle of body wash that I use. Bottle of conditioner that gets used on very, very rare occasions. That’s all. ---

Speaking for myself, one bottle of inexpensive 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner, one bar of soap, one can of shaving cream. For my wife, many shampoos, conditioners, body washes, moisturizers, god only knows what. Many. Too many. ---

We have two shelves in our shower. This is important because I am (mostly) blind, and the stuff on my shelf better be my stuff, or I’ll never be able to distinguish it from my wife’s stuff. On my shelf: shampoo (concentrated–my wife won’t let me use the cheapo Suave anymore), a bottle of Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint soap, which sometimes gets used as shampoo or shaving soap if I’m lazy, and my razor. I don’t shave every day, so I usually don’t have specialized shaving product in the shower, but sometimes I will bring some in temporarily. My wife’s shelf has 4 or 5 items the purposes of which are a complete mystery to me. ---

1 bottle of shampoo 1 bottle of Cetaphil skin cleanser or generic equivalent (don’t remember which I bought last time, they look pretty much the same and do the same thing). When you’ve got hyper-sensitive skin that’s pretty much it. I do have some normal soap in the bathroom in both liquid and bar form for guests who might prefer that. I don’t normally keep it in the shower, though. Bring your own shampoo (or use mine - I’m willing to share). ---
