Alas, no. Could have been though. Chemistry was my game. But I fell in love with words and became a writer. Do fantasies of myself in a white lab coat, slaving over a hot centrifuge, count? No? Well, at least I have my fantasy life! šŸ˜‰ No, no, donā€™t cry for meā€¦ I can live with the fact that I will never ever again smell anything nearly as funky as the concoctions we made in labā€¦ but at least I walked away with the knowledge of how to make LSDā€¦ this has made my writing what it is today. Better living through modern chemistry. Believe it, kids! ---

Iā€™m not anything yet, but Iā€™m a student trying to decide on my major. I desperately want to be an astrophysicist, but there doesnā€™t seem to be much call for one out here. No matter which way I go, Iā€™ll be in some kind of science or engineering program. ---

Sorry, just an engineer - BS in ME. (I can bullshit about myself. What, thatā€™s not what that means?) Geobabe, not _that_ rocket scientist joke? I work at NASA, too. Iā€™ve seen t-shirts like that around - somebody made up a set a couple years ago. Iā€™ve used the joke myself. An ex-girlfriendā€™s dad used to call me his personal rocket scientist. Hey, I studied a handful of aero classes in college, including learning the equation for calculating payload/fuel ratios for multistage rockets. Okay, back to the real scientists. ---

Was a food/industrial microbiologist. Dropped out of a Masters in genetic engineering partway through. (Held a test-tube of freshly engineered bugs in my hand and thought ā€œShould we really be doing this?ā€, a thought prompted in part by my lab partner, who was without doubt the least ept person I have ever encountered in a micro lab, and believe me, the side effects of ineptness in microbiology lab are Darwinian evolution in action.). ---

Does a grad student count? Got my astronomy MS this year, hopefully a Ph.D in 3 more years. More of an engineer at heart though - Iā€™m mostly working on developing instruments for astronomical satellites. ---
