How many smartphones have you ever had stolen?

How easy is it to reuse the smart phone once it’s stolen? I thought they were pretty explicitly tied to the subscriber, and if you report it as stolen, the ID number of the phone (or whatever the technical term is) is completely locked down and invalid. I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if the intrepid had figure out a way around it, but I thought it was a lot harder than with dumb phones where you can often just swap out a SIM.

This really isn’t the thread for this discussion, but this logic is very flawed in dozens of ways. What this amounts to is saying that because of these 2 or 3 really unlikely annoying situations (all of which are already accounted for in every mobile OS) I’m going to choose to make everything completely unsecured. It’s like shooting yourself in the face simply because someday, maybe, you might catch a cold.

None lost - none stolen. I did run over one once. and surprisingly I’ve found a few. :man_shrugging:
