My google-fu is failing me. How many times, on average in an NFL regular season, will a kickoff or punt be returned for a touchdown? I’m guessing 25-30, but that’s just a somewhat-educated guess, based on multiplying the number of times I _think_ I see such a thing on _SportsCenter_, times 17 games in the season. ---

There were 18 punts and 13 kickoffs returned for touchdowns in [2012](http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2012/). 13 punts and 7 kickoffs were returned for touchdowns in [2013](http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2013/).
